The Port Guard Shirt is a must for anyone with
a surgically implanted “Mediport”.
This garment was created to help protect a persons “Mediport” site. It
was really created so my 8-year-old son, battling cancer
(Leukemia), could play little league
baseball and not have to sit out during Gym or recess. As you may
already know, being hit in the Mediport is not only painful but
dangerous. Daily activities or crowded spaces lead to accidental
bumps and hits to a person’s Mediport. We never realize how often our
body parts are touched until it is injured. Something as simple as
a seatbelt causes pain and discomfort not to mention what would
happen should it be put to use. The Port Guard Shirt is a
comfortable and practical way to stay safe and reassured.
The Port Guard Shirt is a form fitting compression shirt with a
soft Velcro type fabric front. The Velcro like fabric allows a
person to attach and keep in place a hard plastic protective Guard
that is manually placed directly over their specific Mediport area.
The Guards Velcro feet hook to the shirt instantly giving accurate
protection against whatever comes your way.
As a parent, I wanted to give my son as many choices as possible
and the freedom to play, jump and be a kid; all the while knowing
he is well protected. We always use our seat belts, a football
helmet, or Gym mats, why not the Port Guard Shirt.
